Diver design models have been an important part of Orient’s history, representing everything that is Orient since their launch in the 1960s. Affectionately known as Orient Mako, this series has been widely admired by watch enthusiasts around the world since its debut in 2004, offering a variety of dial colours and intricate design details.
Founded in 1950, Orient has built its credibility as a trusted watch brand with its in-house manufactured mechanical watches and presence in over 70 countries. In 2025, Orient celebrates its 75th anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, Orient is releasing three models in a limited number of 6,000 pieces each for Orient Mako and Orient Mako 40, and 1,000 pieces for Orient Mako with chronograph functions.
The limited-edition models elicit the feeling of sunny days with endless blue skies and a gentle sea breeze. They each feature sky-blue dials that stand out in active settings, with sunburst stamped patterns, sunlight-inspired second hands (chronograph second hand for chronograph models), and a vintage Orient cursive logo from the 1950s. These features all enhance the character of these timepieces. The case with a screw case-back and screw down crown provide water resistance to 20 bar, and a cursive inscription “Orient Since 1950 – 75th Anniversary” and individual serial numbers are engraved on the case-back.

Orient Mako with a case diameter of 41.8 mm, and Orient Mako 40 measuring 39.9 mm, are equipped with automatic (with hand winding) in-house movements that provide power reserve of over 40 hours and stable accuracy. These models are highly practical for both outdoor use and wearing around town. Orient Mako with chronograph functions features a solar-powered movement that converts energy from light sources into electrical energy. This function is helpful when frequently using the chronograph function in various settings.
Orient Mako 40, with compact and simplicity as its theme and a diameter of 39.9 mm, offers new regular models featuring the popular dial colours of red, green, and grey. The vibrant red and green dials are further accentuated by silver-coloured rotating bezels, with yellow tips on the second hands adding a sharp and refined touch. The grey and green dial models feature newly designed silicone straps with embossed processing, providing a modern look and exceptional comfort.

In addition to its sophisticated diver design and versatility, the Orient Mako 40 models offer high-quality features such as sapphire crystal glass, water resistance to 20 bar, SUS316L stainless steel metal bracelets, and automatic (with hand winding) in-house calibre F6722 movement that offer stable high precision. These elements further enhance the charm of Orient Mako 40.
